Age 75, of Wilmington, DE, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at his residence. He was the son of the Late Fred and Addie Curtis Callahan. He retired from the City of Wilmington and Harvey & Harvey as a sanitation Technician. He was an auxiliary police officer with the City of Wilmington and was honored for saving a child from a burning bulding. Herbert was well known throughout the city and was proud of his tap dancing, boxing and piano skills. he is survived by 1 son, Lavocia Herbert Callahan, 1 daughter-in-law, Vanessa Callahan; 4 grandson; 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Deisie Love of Delaware City, De; 6 nices; a devoted niece, Felicia Callahan, 2 nephews; a special nephew, Hashssan Douglas Price, whom he nurtured; 4 generations of nieces and nephews; several cousins; as wellas a host of other relatives and many friends Read Herbert Callahan's Obituary and Guestbook on houseofwrightmortuary.com.
