Helen Hazel Miller was born in Delaware City, DE and was the daughter of the late Cora
Watson and Arthur Watson. She was born on February 9,1930 and departed this life on
November 8, 2024, peacefully at home.
Helen received her elementary, middle and high school education from the Delaware City
Public Schools #118. In 1960, she married the love of her life Walter Miller and they later
resided in Wilmington. After school, she worked for many years for the State of
Delaware as a Tax Preparer.
During her life Helen was an active and faithful minister of the Church of Deliverance
Ministries formerly located in Wilmington, Delaware under the leadership of Apostle
Roosevelt Burns. She recently attended the Abundant Life Apostolic Church where she
enjoyed worshipping the Lord. She also fellowshipped at the Praise Center in
Wilmington Delaware. Helen loved the Lord and enjoyed praying for her children and
grandchildren and anyone she came in contact with. She had a special place in her heart
for all her the pastors and church family that she was connected to. She was devoted to
the people and things of God. She enjoyed spending time with Nyla her great-
granddaughter both of them taking turns caring for each other and her number one as
she called her Lisa.
Helen often connected with family and friends either through phone conversations or in
person. She enjoyed going out to dinner after church, bargain shopping at garage sales
and getting good deals at the thrift stores. She loved all her children and grandchildren
and kept reminding them that Jesus was soon to come. Mom Helen wanted her whole
family to be saved. If you ever visited or lived at 519 North Franklin Street, by the time
you left you experienced the love of Jesus and what it meant to live a Holy, sanctified life
through her.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Walter Miller; sisters Dorothy Manlove
(James), Catherine Ringgold (Johnny), Anna Harding (Kennerd), Greta Neil (Wilbert),
Alice Miller (Arthur), Alma Miller (Cling); brothers Arhtur Watson (May), Ernest Watson
(Mable), Eugene Watson, Ralph Watson (Georgeanna), William Watson, children Ronald
Watson (Pam), Keith Watson (Tracy), Lawrence Brown, Maurice Wright, Latanya Miller,
grandson Devontae Miller, and lifelong friend Lucille Scott.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children Myron Miller, Kenny Miller
(Rosetta) daughter Jennifer Crippen, Norma Lee (Christopher) one sister Shirley Drown
(Theodore) six granddaughters; Lisa Taylor ( Earl), Shirlene Crippen, Shamyra Miller,
Teymar Miller, Ayoka Owens, Chalon Obi, seven grandsons; Brian Watson (Donna),
Roger Crippen, Urahn Roberts, Shea Watson, Ronnie Watson, Jye Owens, Myron
Jackson (Enjoli), Byron Miller, Keair Daniels, Michael Watson, a host of great
grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and special friend
Betty Gwyn.
