Helen was the daughter of the late Hugh and Prince Crawford. Miss Helen, as she was affectionately known, was one of fourteen children. She was a graduate of Howard High School and attended nursing classes at Brown Vocational, both here in Wilmington. She worked for Delaware Division Hospital and retired from the State's Delaware Division of Health and Social Services after twenty years of service.
