A life and eternal peace and rest were granted to Gregory Scott,76, of Newark Delaware as he departed this life on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at his home after a long illness.
Gregory Scott was born on July 7, 1945; the youngest of 4 children was born to the late Ernest Scott and Beatrice Scott. He was educated in the Wilmington Public Schools, graduating from P.S. Dupont High School. He was a member of the P.S. Dupont basketball team.
He married Barbara Ann Pritchett in June 1965 and from this union two daughters were born, Nina and Renea.
Gregory worked for Christina School District where he retired in 2007. He was affectionately known as Daddy, Pop-Pop, Greg, or Scott by friends and family. He liked fishing, traveling, listening to music, and reading cowboy books. He enjoyed going to sporting events, often attending the Penn Relays and high school basketball games with his brother, friends, and son-in-law Denzil.
He especially loved watching his grandchildren's activities whether 10 minutes away or 2 hours away; he was there. He was the biggest champion and supporter of all their endeavors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Scott, Father, Ernest Scott, Mother, Beatrice Scott, Brother Ronald Scott Sr., and s
sisters, Maxine Scott, and Joyce Austin.
Gregory will be missed immensely by his family. He leaves to cherish his memory Daughters, Nina Burruss (Richard) of Claymont DE, Renea Scott-Penn (Denzil) of Middletown DE. Grandchildren, Austin Hill, Denzil Penn III, Dassan Penn, and Brianna Rogers. Sisters-in-law, Barbara C. Scott, Geraldine Cvengross, Janice Thomas and Sheila Pritchett Murray, Brother-in-law Harold Pritchett, and his loving companion Vanessa Goodwyn and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to Covid concerns, services will be private for family, and close friends only. There will be no repast. Previous Events
