Gregory L. Selby

Gregory Labar Selby was born on March 7, 1977, in Wilmington, Delaware to Myrtle Watson, and

Gregory Collins. He departed this life on November 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.


“Munch” as he was affectionately known, received his early education in the Wilmington Public School

System, and later attended William Penn High School. He worked for Brooks Armored, various janitorial

and construction jobs. In 2019 he became an entrepreneur of his own business. Munch was a member

of United Community Ministry of Inc., Elkton, MD.


Munch was a loving and giving person, putting other people’s needs first. Growing up, his favorite thing

to do was boxing. They used to call him “Baby Tyson” because he would knock people out. His hobbies

were blasting rap music, playing basketball, bowling, and enjoying activities with his family. He was the

family’s free private investigator. He also loved road trips to the beach, his car, and mostly his family.


He is preceded in death by his grandparents, William Howard Selby, Sr., and Ethel Bell Selby, Rev. Ivan

Collins, Jr., and Thelma Collins, Sister, Lashonda M. Selby, aunts and uncles Irene Selby, Howard Selby, Patricia A.

Selby, Brenda L. Selby, Jerry S. Selby, Betty Young, and Tom Gilberth


Munch is survived by his wife, Nicole M. Parks, children, Jaquan Selby, Jakira Selby, Jaliyah Selby, and

Jahiem Selby, parents Myrtle Watson(John), and Gregory Collins (Shirley), brother, Marvin Selby (Michelle), devoted

niece, Brauna Selby, nephews, Troy Buie, Kayden Selby, and Jordan Teagle, nieces, Dinasty Selby,

Shar’Daisha Selby, Sha’Naijah Selby, and Ny’Asia Selby, two godchildren, Aleeyah Rollins, and Apollo

Brown, devoted cousins, William Selby, Dwayne Selby, Tinjia Porter (Keefe), Albert Selby, Kelien Selby,

Steven Reed (Net), brother in law, Theodore Parks (Wanda), mother in law, Lorraine Parks, two devoted

friends, Gary Brown(Miesha), Thomas McCray, and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
