She departed this life on Sunday, February 6, 2006 peacefully in her sleep. Her early education was in the Public Schools of Wilmington, graduating from Howard High School. Grace was baptisted in the Old Shiloh Baptist Church. Twice married, first to the late James Fisher, out of that union she had a daughter, Grace C. Fisher or "Gracie" to most. She later married Richard E. Priest and out of that union she had a son, Richard E. Priest, Jr. or "Bubby" to most. In 1967 she relocated to Boston, Mass where she held several jobs. Her last job was with John Hancock as a Supervisor of the custodian staff, Grace retired from this job in 1987. In 1988 she returned to Delaware to live with her daughter Gracie. Grace loved to play the organ and sing church hymns. She loved to read and recite poems, I know that if you ever sat or talked to her for any amount of time, you were recited her favorite poem, "Old Age Is Hell". Grace would spend times doing crossword puzzles. She attended the West City Senior Center for a few years. Grace enjoyed watching Alison Brown, her great great, great grand niece and Atera Fisher, her great, great, great granddaughter which turned out usually they ended up babysitting her.
