Gloria L. Tinsley

Gloria Luvenia Tinsley, affectionately known as "Sook," daughter of the late Walter and Louise Tinsley, was born on August 15, 1958, in Wilmington, DE. She transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, DE.

Gloria received her early education through homeschooling and later attended De La Warr High School, graduating in 1976. Gloria loved the Lord, going to church, and playing Gospel music. Her
favorite artist was Shirley Caesar. She was a beloved member of St. Luke's Temple of the Apostolic Faith in Wilmington, DE, where she was an active participant during the worship services, testifying, singing, and giving glory to God!

Sook loved nature and could often be found outdoors feeding the birds and squirrels. She also enjoyed shopping, especially at the dollar store. Sook was known for her generosity and random acts of kindness, such as giving gifts to her family and friends and providing lunches to the neighborhood sanitation crew.

For many years, her family hosted the annual Fourth of July cookout. She always brought the entertainment, lighting firecrackers and having fun with her cousins.

Gloria leaves to cherish her dear memories: two brothers, Edward Tinsley Hairston (Freda) and Calvin Tinsley of Wilmington, DE; her devoted caregivers and cousins, William Wilkes of Joppa, MD and Shayla Brown of Wilmington, DE; four aunts, Helen M. Moye and Parthenia L. Broadnax of Wilmington, DE, and Abbie Lue Lampkins and Mary Ann Giles of Axton, VA; special friends, Jackie Thornton, Cynthia Chamberlain, Trenda Conner, and Diane Moye, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
