Glen was born in Halifax County, Virginia on April 6 of 1950 and went home to glory on May 17, 2016.
He was best known for his athletic abilities in football and baseball and graduated from Christiana High School in 1969. Because of his phenomenal skills and abilities on the field, he earned an athletic scholarship and attended Delaware State University until family responsibilities required that he become employed at General Motors.
On November 8, 1969 he married Joanne Miller and together they have two children: Glenard Thompson, Jr. and Paula A. Thompson.
Glen was proceeded by his mother Lillie M. Thompson and leaves to cherish his memories, his father Bishop Lun E. Thompson (Romain), sisters, Vivian Thompson and Priscilla M. Oden (Sylvester), brothers Lawrence E. Thompson and Timothy L. Thompson. Son Glenard Thompson, Jr. and daughter Paula A. Thompson. Granddaughter, Leah, Grandson, Savion, Granddaughter, Ayanna and Great Grandson, Elijah. And, numerous host of family and friends.
Glen was best known, and loved, for his crazy sense of humor and outlandish and whimsical comments and outlook on life--qualities that made him unique and special and loved even more. His fighting spirit in life was just the same as his fighting spirit on the field--never quit and never give in.
We will miss him!
Love You Always,
