Gerad Porell Adams

February 3, 1998 — January 21, 2019

As the shadows of the evening spread across the sky, Gerad, our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend departed this life. Gerad Porell Adams, was the second son born to Angie A. Demby and Gary P. Adams, Sr. on February 3, 1998 in Georgetown, South Carolina. Gerad received his early education in the Smyrna School District in Smyrna, Delaware. Gerad was a very ambitious young man with a great eye for fashion. He dressed very well! He loved his family and was a loyal friend. His favorite past time was playing basketball, football, listening to his. favorite music, and most of all spending time with his family. We will always remember him for keeping tabs on their whereabouts, being overly-protective, and the constant phone calls made to the most important women in his life: his mother and sister: LeeLee, collaborating musically with his brothers:Teddy and JR, and deep conversations with his brother Gemere, whom he never wanted to leave him home alone, even if it meant having a hurt behind from riding him on the handlebars of his bike. Even as a baby, Gerad had a very infectious smile, that would melt your heart. He had a deep love for those closest to him, especially his Mother. There are so many things about Gerad that we will miss, most of all his beautiful spirit, his hugs, and his love. Gerad is preceded in death by his brother, Gary P. Adams, Jr., his paternal grandmother: Mary Adams, his maternal grandmothers: Maggie Fields and Gladys Bibbins. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother Angie (David) Demby of Jacksonville, North, Carolina; his father Gary P. (Josie) Adams, Sr.; his brothers: Tedrick Maxion of Smyrna, DE, Gemere Adams of Pittsburgh, PA, Tajere Matthew of Wilmington, DE. Sisters: Galiyah Adams of Jacksonville, NC, Kanisha Barr, Jerica Knots, Mariah Jenkins all of South Carolina, Britney McCoy of Maryland, and Jaden Matthew of Wilmington, DE. Step-brothers: David Demby, Jr. and Diaire Demby of Smyrna, DE, David Cooper, Dante Simpkins, and Curtis Chambers all of Wilmington, DE.; his grandparents: Apostle Theodore & Pastor Maggie Adams of Stockbridge, GA., and grandmother: Naomi Adams of Dallas, Texas; two adorable nieces: Ja'lanni and Jayde Maxion of Felton, DE. and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
