George Mccoy Strickland

George McCoy Strickland, age 85, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Grand Forks, North Dakota left his earthly home to join his Heavenly Father on Monday, 3 March 2014, surrounded by his loving family. George is a retired Facility Manager dedicating 23 years of service to the United States Air Force. After retiring from the USAF, George started a number of business ventures, including owning his Insurance Agency, and Global Marketing Strategies. George was an avid fisherman. George was also a charter member of Mosaic Lodge #11 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. George was a Shriner and Consistory, a 33rd Degree Mason, as well as a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Stars Grand Chapter Minnesota Jurisdiction. George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Doris Lorraine Murphy Strickland of Wilm., DE; Mother, Cornelia Williams Strickland and Father James Chalmas Strickland of North Carolina; and Brothers James C. Strickland and Luther D. Strickland of Wilm., DE. George leaves to cherish his memory four sons, Robert Smallwood of Wilm., DE; George R. Strickland of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Keith K. Strickland of Lancaster, Texas; and Mark R. Strickland of Little Rock, AR; three daughters, Rhonda S. Davis (Edward) of Hillsboro, Alabama; Valenti A. Thomas of Aiea, HI; and Katrina L. Strickland (Raymond) of Little Rock, AR; 23 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
