George Henry Riley 96, of Lincoln, DE passed away Friday, Jan, 16, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick , NJ . Born in Accomack, VA, George was the middle out of 9 children born to the late William and Lilli Riley. George loved the outdoors and particularly loved hunting, fishing and was an avid gardener. In the Lincoln community he was known for growing and distributing his home grown vegetables. Some of his hobbies included crabbing and cooking and was notorious for being frugal or as his family would say "CHEAP". George loved life to the fullest and would give his last to help someone else. If you passed his house you were sure to see him sitting outside. The summer Family Outreach staff were always excited about stopping to see Mr. George, he would always tell them the story about the chicken and rooster. George accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life at an early age and attended Philadelphia Pentecostal Church until his health started to fail. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. 96 years is certainly an indication of the strength of George Henry Riley. George was pre-deceased by his wife Ethel Riley, his son Stanley Riley, five brothers, and three sisters. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving daughter Linda McDuffy (James) of Lakewood, NJ, three grandchildren Terrell Riley (Nina), Chantina Riley and Shamar Riley all of Lakewood, NJ. Five great-grandchildren, Asjuan, Chanastazia, Royalty, Rondell and Abdull; one great-great grandchild Joseph Francis. George also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Special thanks to his great- nephew Hilton Wescott, Sr who assisted George during his illness. Read George Riley's Obituary and Guestbook on houseofwrightmortuary.com.
