Gary L. Newby, Sr.

Gary L. Newby Sr. Was born on September 11, 1949, In Wilmington, Delaware

to Betty E. Newby. Gary passed on January 4, 2023, in Newark Delaware.

Gary received his early education in Wilmington Delaware Public school

system. He graduated from Job Corp of Idaho, and after graduating Gary was

employed by Daimler Chrysler for 30 years. Gary retired in 2002 and took on

the role of getting his grandkids from school (POPIE) as his grandchildren called

him.

Gary was a very private and well-kept man and very wise beyond his years. He

enjoyed listening to music. He was a family man and loving husband. Gary

enjoyed participating and watching his grandchildren grow up into adulthood.

Over the years Gary took an interest in the latest technology. Gary also took

pride in keeping his Chrysler 300 clean and shining. If there was a small spot of

dirt, he cleaned his baby faithfully.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother Betty Newby, Sister Diane Bunkley

(Lloyd), Brother In-law Eric Moore Sr. (Pamela).

Gary leaves to cherish his memories, wife Pamela Newby of 54 years, son Gary

Newby Sr (Alethieia), Daughter Betty Newby (Ronald), God Son Michael

Moore, bonus son Reginald Harris, Five Grandchildren Lenday Mathis

(TayShon), Ky’Ree Harris (Paradise), Jaheim Harris, Gabrielle, and Gary Newby

III., Great Grand Daughters Malaysia and Maddison Cruz, Devoted cousin/

brother Selvy Chesson and a host of relatives.
