Ethel was a remarkable woman whose life was full of joy and fulfillment. She was born on July 14, 1935, in Bartow, Georgia to James Kelly and Louise Hall Kelly. Ethel spent her early years in Bartow, Georgia before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she was blessed with two daughters, Patricia and Linda Kelly. Later on, Ethel relocated to Wilmington, Delaware where she welcomed her last two children, a son named Joseph D. Cooper Jr., affectionately known as "Lil Joe," and a daughter named Janet Regina Cooper, affectionately known as "Gina." Ethel was a lifelong learner who never stopped improving herself. She earned her diploma from James H. Grove's adult education program and went on to obtain a certificate in nursing. Ethel even became certified in X-ray and EKG. She was a loving person who found joy in caring for others and making her children proud. In October of 1982, Ethel married Mr. Bentley Snow, the love of her life. They were both dedicated members of the Church Of Faith and Deliverance where she served as a Sunday school and bible study teacher for over 20 years. Ethel was also one of the founding members of Faith and Deliverance church and president of the pastor's aide committee. Along with being a part of the prayer & women of power prayer group. This brought her great joy. In 2002 Ethel and her husband began caring for their great-granddaughter Keyona Fincher affectionately known as "Fincha" whom they loved dearly. Ethel will be greatly missed the way she prioritized family was everything Ethel would spend countless hours talking to her granddaughter Melissa Cohen and best friend Ms. Jerolyn Rice (Jerry) Daily. Ethel departed this life fulfilling every duty God intended for her.
Ethel will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bentley Snow; her parents, James Kelly and Louise Hall Kelly; her two beautiful daughters, Patricia and Linda Kelly; her stepsons, Bentley Jr, Jeffery & Clarence Snow; her granddaughter, Crystal N. Cooper; her grandson, Jeremy A. Cooper; and 3 brothers, George, Arthur & Willie Kelly. 3 Brother In-Laws George, Arthur & James Snow.
She is survived by her son, Joseph D. Cooper Jr (Patsy); her daughter, Janet Regina Cooper; 3 stepdaughters, Dorothy Skinner, Margie Stewart (Kirk) of South Carolina,& Janet Williams (Shaun) of Georgia; her best friend, Jerolyn Rice (Jerry); 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ethel will be sorely missed, but her legacy of love and caring will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
