Estella P. O'Neal Garris age77, of Wilmington, DE passed Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Christiana Hospital. Mrs. Estella P. O'Neal Garris was born February 12, 1931in Hastings, FL to the late William O'Neal and Annie B. Singleton. She received her education in the public schools in Hastings, Fl. In 1949 she married the late Leroy Garris, Sr. From this union 3 children were born, Leroy Garris, Jr., Audrey (LaNorris) McLaurin and Marla Garris. In the year of 1954, she came to Wilmington, DE and joined Scott A.M.E. Zion Church under the pastor of L.A. Lawson. Mrs. Garris was employed by the State of Delaware for 3 years; also, for NewCastle County for 27 years. Estella was preceded in death by husband, Leroy, Sr.; siblings, Odessa Kemp, Willie O'Neal and Mary Oliver; and grandson Cinque Garris. She leaves to cherish her memories, children, Leroy Garris, Jr., Audrey (LaNorris) McLaurin and Marla Garris; 4 grandchildren, Jeaniene Simmons, Lamonte McLaurin, Amber Garris and Alexis Garris; siblings, Martha Garris, Arthur O'Neal, Charles O'Neal and Edward Singleton, Jr.; and other family members and friends.
