Elmo B. ""Moe" "Brother"" Suggs, Jr.

Elmo B. Suggs, Jr., affectionately known as "Brother" or "Moe", was born on May 6, 1938 to the late Elmo Benjamin Suggs, Sr. and Rosie Mae Howard Suggs in Montgomery County Clarksville, TN. He entered the Kingdom of God on May 16, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Elmo received his early education at Burt Elementary School and later graduated from Burt High School in the Montgomery School District in 1956. He worked at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company, Wilmington Fiber, and Johnson Control Company, where he retired after 27 years of service. He enjoyed playing the lottery, watching his favorite television shows like Jeopardy, Price is Right, Let's Make a Deal, and COPS. He also enjoyed playing poker with the "Tuesday Club". Elmo was an avid fan of all Philadelphia Sports Teams: The Philadelphia Flyers, 76ers, Phillies and especially the Philadelphia Eagles. He also never forgot his home team, the Tennessee Volunteers. Elmo moved to Delaware in 1959 later meeting the love of his life, Ella Mae Queen. They married in 1960. From this union seven children were nurtured, loved and raised. Family was very important to Elmo. He loved family time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He especially loved traveling back home to visit his sisters whom he cherished very deeply. Even though Elmo knew and trusted God, on May 3, 2019 he reaffirmed his faith. Elmo was preceded in death by his parents Rosie Mae Howard and Elmo Benjamin Suggs Sr., his wife: Ella Mae Queen Suggs; children: Christopher Suggs and Marlon Queen. Elmo leaves to cherish his memories his children Marcus Queen, Eric Queen, Elaine Suggs, Calvin Sr. (Marie) and Reginald (Shawnzetta); 10 Grandchildren: Candice, Gary, Chris, Ny'Chelle, Calvin Jr., Marcus II, Kevin, Raven, Christina, and Re'gine; 4 Great grandchildren: Giani, Reily , Apollo and Makenzie; Siblings: Rev. Mary Imogene Bryant, Jenice Quarles (Ira), Anita Jelks, Joyce Chestnut and Grace Hutchinson; Adoptive Sons: Kerry Henry, John Jordan and Kevin Wright; Adoptive niece/daughter: Zina Queen Cotten; In Laws: Thelma Queen, Ruby Henry (Dallas), Helen Perkins, Alice Loat and George Queen; devoted cousin Robert Fletcher, The Tuesday Club, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
