"Hear my cry, O God: listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." (Psalm 61:1-2) Ellen Bullock, age 75, returned to her heavenly home on July 8, 2019 in Wilmington, Delaware after a valiant battle with heart and lung disease. Her firm belief in God and the love and support from family, extended family, Bethel Pentecostal church family, and friends supported her in her struggles over the years. Ellen was born on December 2, 1943 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Katherine Roberts and Perry Copper. She was raised by her maternal grandmother, Matilda Watkins, and aunt, Louise Roberts. Ellen received her education in Talbot County (Maryland) and New Castle County (Delaware) school systems. Always eager to venture out to learn something new, she furthered her education to become an Entrepaneur. In the late 1970's she successfully opened a day care center in Easton, Md. She took great pride in her business building long term relationships with families and within the community. In 1983, Ellen relocated to Wilmington, DE. working for multiple employers. She joined the DuPont Company as a data entry specialist working at the Eden Park location until the challenges with her health began. Ellen loved to cross stitch, play board games, cross word puzzles, and watch cooking shows and westerns. She was also a HSN, QVC, and Evine Connoisseur. She could always find a great bargain for everyone! She especially loved phone conversations with family and friends. It was many of those conversations that gave her support at times when no one knew what she may have been going through. Ellen was a proud devoted and faithful member of Bethel Pentecostal Church (Wilm., De.) under the pastoral leadership of Bishop James Odell White, Sr. She loved her church family and forged many close relationships. She especially loved leading "the prayer line". "Nana" as she was affectionally called by her grandchildren and great grandchildren was known to give nicknames such as (Slim, Rue, Pork, Terri Berry, Tator, Noodle, Toot Toot, Nee Nee, Boot Lady, Lil Pork, Motor mouth, Mr. Destructive, Fingers, Mera Mera, and Tink Tink. In addition to her parents Ellen was predeceased by her 3 sons, Jerry Roberts, Kevin Bordley, and Troy Bullock. She was also predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Her precious memories will be forever cherished by her daughter, LeeAnn Bullock (Michael), 2 sisters, Ernestine White (Odell), and Geraldine Rasin (late William), a daughter in law, Rena Bullock, 2 stepsisters, Sheila Joshua and Jackie Joshua-Watson, 11 grandchildren, Jerrinieca Walker, Tameeka Roberts, Kevin Bordley, Kevondra Etheridge (Rajneesh), Shahidah Bordley, Christine Bordley, LeeAnn Rogers, Terri Price, Ta'Von (Allegra) and Nyema Bullock, and Nyree Bordley, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, Diane White, and Shania Gregory (Terrez), 6 nephews, James White Jr.(Andrea), John White (Sonya), Michael Collins (Teresa), Joel White (Sassy), Tony Collins and Armond Collins (Carleta), and a host of great nieces to include her "bestie" Brittney White, great nephews, cousins, extended families (The Skinners, Colemans, Fountains, and Goodman), Bethel Pentecostal Church Family, and friends to include life time friends Jacqueline Lewis and Alverta Reams.
