Edith E. Napier

Edith E. Napier was born on December 29th, 1936, in Franklin County, North Carolina to William and

Roberta Sloan. She transitioned on September 8th,2023 at Christiana Care Hospital, Wilmington, DE.

Edith received her early education in the public school system of North Carolina and graduated from

Perry’s High School in 1955. She worked for Wilmington Hospital for 35 years as a Nurse Tech.

Edith was a member of Union Baptist Church. Her many interests upon retirement were reading, walking

and exercising. She especially enjoyed eating out at her favorite spots Red Lobster & Olive Garden.

She was preceded in death by her parent(s) William & Roberta Sloan, sibling(s) Keith Sloan, Joe Sloan,

Racheal Epps, Judith Clinton, Loretta Battle, Sue Carol Johnson and William Sloan, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Daughter – Stephanie L. Napier of New Castle, DE, Son – Owen

Napier, Jr. of Wilmington, DE, two grandsons Michael S. Sheppard (Jameela) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA,

Anthony L. Sheppard of West Hollywood, CA and two great grandchildren Ahziah and Aniah Sheppard,

Sister(s) Halloween Sloan of Durham, NC, and RoeAnna Brakefield of New Castle, DE, brother Robert

Sloan of Raleigh, NC, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
