She was raised in Talbot and Queen Anne counties on MD's Eastern Shore. She attended Matthewstown Elementary School and Kennard High School in Centerville, MD.After high school Ms. Wallace was employed by Vita Foods in Chestertown, MD for many years until they closed the plant in 1973. She was an assembly electronic components. Ms. Wallace also worked briefly for the Kent County (MD) Health Department before she left MD and moved to Wilmington in January 1986. She initially worked as a housekeeper in DE before becoming a children's day care worker and later an assistant teacher which she did until her retirement from 1st Step Day Care in Wilmington, DE. Ms. Wallace retired in 2005. Ms. Wallace enjoyed taking care of and helping people, especially family, children, and friends who were in need. She was always willings to give a ride if needed and share with others no matter now much or how little she may have had. She enjoyed taking care of her plants, gospel music, bingo, collecting and wearing unusual hats and going to Delaware Park, but mainly her joy was nurturing and comforting her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Garfield Newman, Rayfield Wallace, Sr., James Wallace, Bernice Bridell, and John Wallace, Sr. and her beloved Lhasa Apso Gizmo. Ms. Wllace is survived by three sons, Norvel B. Thompson, Jr. of Tolchester, MD, Reginald W. Wilson of Bear, DE and Byron E. Robinson of Wilmington, DE; two daughters, Rochelle Wilson-Robinson of Worton, MD and Faith D. Wilson who moved in with Ms. Wallace as her companion and caregiver, two grandsons that she raised Donte S. Wilson and Jawan L. Gilbert both of Wilmington, DE; grandson, whose presence always brought "Mom Mom" joy and laughter; two brothers, Bradford Newman of Cordova, MD and Monroe Wallace, Sr. of Salisbury, MD; four sisters Juanita Gibson of Hurlock, Md; Mary Thompson and Ruth Elliott both of Cambridge, Md and Esther Martin of Millington, MD; one son-in-law (Avery), one daughter-in-law (Patricia); three brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law;"sons" Isaiah Manley, Jr. and Raymond Jones, Jr. and "daughters" Cathy, Marion, Laurie, Mignon and Sharde; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
