Dr. Emmanuel Babatunde Durosomo, beloved first son and third child of Elijah Olarewaju Dursomo of Olobado's compound in Oshogbo, Nigeria; and Victor Taiwo Dursomo(nee Odubanjo) of Itantebo quarters in Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria, was born on May 26, 1953 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Dr. Tunde Durosomo attended Christ Apostolic Church Primary School in Oshogbo, Osun State, Nigeria for his elementary education. He attended the prestigious Oshogbo Grammar School, where he graduated with distinction in 1969 before proceeding to the United States of America in 1971 for his college education.
Dr. Tunde Durosomo enrolled in Hampton University, Hampton, Virginia, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He attended Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia, where he completed his Masters of Business Administration studies. Upon graduation, he worked as a Polymer Chemist for a few years before returning to his native country, Nigeria in 1980 where he also worked as a Polymer Chemist with Berger Paints Nigeria Ltd.
In his relentless quest for knowledge, Dr. Tunde Durosomo returned to United States in 1986 for a PhD program. He studied and obtained his PhD degree in International Relations from University of Delaware. He started his distinguished career with the City of Wilmington in 1994 where he served in various leadership positions; as Director of International Development and the Senior Economic Advisor to the Mayor, the position he occupied until his passing.
Dr. Durosomo's legacy lives on with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children; Tirra, Omolola, Omotunde, Babajide and Omolara; 5 grandchildren; Ahnye Hall, Ayanna Holt, Nysheem Outlaw, Elijah Gibbons and Cy'aire Hamilton.
Dr. Emmanuel Babatunde Durosomo went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2016.
