Dorothy Ann Williams Brown affectionately known as "Dottie" gently transitioned home to glory on June 7, 2015 surrounded by family.
Dorothy was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Cladius T. Williams and Gertrude B. Williams. Reared in a large close knit family, she attended Mary C. I. Williams School as a young girl. She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1963. Later, she attended Delaware Technical Community College where she developed an interest in elementary education. Dorothy was employed as a paraprofessional for the Christina School District for over twenty years. Dorothy's passions were family, especially children, art, cooking, traveling, gardening. Dorothy was a faithful member of Bethel AME Church. She rejoiced and embraced the unwavering support and fellowship of her church family.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Aaron and Vernell Jr., thirteen siblings, Eleanor (Thomas), Grace, Richard (Juanita), Shirley, April, Joyce (John), Aphonso (Ellicott City, MD), James (Debra), Gilbert (Joy), Carlton, Carolyn, Claudette, Gregory (Tanya); one aunt, Rosa Brown (Aberdeen, MD), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends, Linda Jones, Emma Reynolds, and Vivian Grayson.
