Donna Lee Buckworth was born on April 12, 1950, in Wilmington, DE to Irene and William Buckworth. She passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Donna received her early childhood education in the public schools of Wilmington. She had several different jobs until she found herself in the construction field. Donna retired from George & Lynch after 20 years of service. She also worked for PTI transportation up until she was too ill to work.
Donna was a jack of all trades! She could sew (I mean sew an outfit in a weekend or 14 bridesmaids dresses in 2 weeks), cook, fix a car, make jewelry, remodel a kitchen and so much more! In her earlier days, you could find her at a pitty-pat game or in Atlantic City. She enjoyed her time at Delaware Park drinking Pepsi and smoking cigarettes while chatting with friends. Please let's not forget how she loved her Phillies whether watching on TV or listening on the radio she was tuned in.
She was 1 of 6 children, Donna is survived by her oldest sister Lolita, her 3 daughters: Michele Buckworth, LaRie Jackson, and Patricia Buckworth, 4 grandchildren Jordan, Kevin, Julia, and Rodrick. She also leaves to cherish 3 great-grandchildren: King (Julia's son), Joshua (Jordan's son), and Rylie (Rodrick's daughter). A host of dear friends and loving family members.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents: William and Irene, siblings: Billy, Susan, Katherine, and Jimmy also 1 grandson Kalin. Previous Events
