Delphine C. Ross, the beloved daughter of the late Jacqueline E. Thompson, was born December 12, 1958 in Wilmington, Delaware. She passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 66.
Delphine received her early childhood education from Charles Lore Elementary and Bayard Middle School in Wilmington, Delaware. She went on to graduate from Wilmington High School in the class of 1976 with a focus on Business. Delphine received achievements awards of excellence for typing and shorthand.
Upon graduation Delphine entered the workforce at ICI, BlueCross & BlueShield (HighMark) as a Senior Claims Adjuster for over twenty-five years. She was later employed by Family Care Associates New Castle. Delaware where she was currently planning her retirement. Delphine was an avid reader and was known for her robust voice of expression, warm smile and outgoing personality. She will be remembered for her love of spending time with family, friends and especially her children and grandson. Delphine was a doting mother and grandmother, determined as a parent; to be supportive and present at every event in which her children participated. Her most precious memories was attending Cedrick’s football games, then what she would refer to as “the road trips” traveling to Tyrah’s weekly basketball games.
Delphine leaves to cherish her son, Cedrick L. Lusby; daughter, Tyrah R. Lusby; stepson, Quwinly Redding; sisters, Minister Eunice P. Harris, L.P. (Donald), Jacqueline E. Owens; brother, Clayton T. Thompson,III; grandson, Cedrick L. Lusby, II and Nephew, Ian A. Brown(LaTessa); Niece, Erica P. Lovette and a host cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.
