Delores Ann Milbourne

October 31, 1953 — February 5, 2025

Delores Ann Milbourne, the second born of four children, was born in Newark, New Jersey. Delores was a lifelong resident of Dover, Delaware and transitioned on February 5 th , 2025, at the Delaware Hospice in Milford, Delaware. Delores was preceded in death by both parents Sarah Ellen Scott and John Westley Milbourne as well as her three brothers William K. Scott, John Milbourne and David Milburne. Delores was educated in the Dover School District and attended Booker T. Washington Elementary School, William Henry Middle School and Dover High School. Delores attended Delaware State College (1968- 1971) and received a Bachelor of Business Administration. Delores was employed at Delaware Technical and Community College campus in Dover as a Finance Officer within the Office of the President. She retired in 2013 to become a Caregiver to family members. Delores loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She loved Christmas so much that she worked at the Dover Christmas Shop for years. Delores was well known for her Christmas décor, and for hosting various dinners and events showcasing her different trees during the holiday season.

In 1969, Elder Mary E. Scott, her grandmother, became a member of Mount Sinai Holy Church of America Inc. Elder Scott founded a church, Fellowship Mission, where Delores was one of the founding members. During her time of membership, Delores worked as a Sunday School teacher, worship leader and held various other duties in the church. Beginning in 1980, Delores devoted much time and effort to the Publication Department of Mount Sinai Holy Church if America Inc. She was the head proofreader and assistant editor for the Convocation Bulletin. For years, Delores and Elder Ruth Boyer chartered buses to the National Youth, Missionary and Foreign Conventions. Both also coordinated, for 15 years, The Fellowship Mission Annual Prayer Breakfast held at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover Delaware. This event brought together different religions and denominations together. Delores also served in the first Mid District State Choir. In 1994, she was appointed as financial secretary of the Mid Atlantic District. She also organized the District Children’s Choir.

Delores became a member of Mt. Sinai Tabernacle in Milford, Delaware in 2018. She put forth 100% plusin all duties and assignments that were assigned to her. Delores was Missionary, Church Sexton, Church Decorator and Chairwoman for the Black History Celebration. Delores was always willing to assist in the Mt. Sinai Tabernacle Annual Special Celebrations; Unity Days, Family and Friends Day and Pastoral- Birthday Celebration and anniversaries. We thank God for her talent and perfection in completing any task put in her hands.

Delores is survived by six first cousins; Robin Couch, Charlynn Boyer, Iris Broomer, Myra Coney, Dwayne Boyer and Brian Moore. She was a God mother to Andrew, (Aaron -deceased) and Joseph Bratten. She leaves behind a host of family, friends, co-workers and church members.
