Delores Walker-Lyle affectionately known as "Granny" was born December 18, 1933 to the late Samuel and Carrie Henry Walker of Rocky Point, North Carolina. She departed this life on November 6, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. Her early public education was received in Rocky Point, NC. Later in life she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Charles H. Lyle in1976. Before moving to Wilmington, Delaware, she was a member of Antioch United Holy Church in Rocky Point, North Carolina. She became a member of New Pentecostal UHC under the pastoral care of the late Dr. Louvenia Dickerson. In 2008, she joined New Life UHC under the leadership of Elder Robert Goodman until present. She held the position of Missionary until the Lord called her to the Ministry. As a Missionary, she served at many nursing homes, private homes, and in many churches. She loved the work of her calling. Minister Lyle had a passion for cooking. She enjoyed cooking for family, friends, and her community. In the year's past, she would often prepare her finger-licking good food for sale at different venues. Both Chrysler and General Motor workers would wait anxiously for her to show up at lunch time with her food; many were preordered lunches. She loved calling people off the street and feeding them; and after they got their belly full, she would share the word of God with them. She loved family get-togethers with food and song. Her favorite TV programs to watch were Wheel-A-Fortune, Family Feud, and Jimmy Swaggart. Minister Lyle was known as a prayer warrior for her family and those in need of prayer. Her favorite scripture was Matthew 6:33 - "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." She was a very compassionate, generous, and all- around good loving person. She would always greet you with her infectious smile no matter how she was feeling! Minister Lyle leaves to cherish her precious memories her brother, Foster Walker. Her daughters, Elease Hawkins (Sally), Patricia Trader (Warner), and Michelle Walker (Sife). Sons, Karl D.
