David Sadler was born on July 3, 1958 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late George and
Louise Sadler. David transitioned from Earth to Glory peacefully surrounded by his
family at Christiana Care on October 7, 2024.
David, affectionately known as Dave, and Twin was a graduate of Middletown High
School Class of 1977. David excelled in track during high school, so much so that
running became more of a passion than exercise to him. He could be seen running from
Odessa to Middletown, sometimes in extreme weather. After graduating high school,
David enlisted in the Delaware Army National Guard and served honorably for four
years.
David was mild-mannered and laid back. He enjoyed singing and dancing, often
imitating the late James Brown. You would frequently hear him singing the old hymn,
“Children Go Where I Send Thee” along with his twin brother Daniel. David joined
Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of his brother, Rev. George Sadler
and because you would never see one twin without the other, Daniel joined as well.
David was preceded in death by his father George H. Sadler, mother Louise J. Sadler,
sister Hester N. Sadler, his brothers Kennard Sadler, Rev. George Sadler, his twin
Daniel Sadler, nephews Chris Sadler and Raymond Allen, III, devoted friends Rev.
Deborah “Super” Walker and Angela “Mickie” Benson.
David leaves to cherish his memories, his brothers William Sadler (Pam), Cecil Sadler,
and his sisters Stephanie Allen (Raymond), Elizabeth Boyer and Lisa Sadler, devoted
cousin Cheryl Cale, devoted friends Bill Saunders, Corporal Saunders, Sherman,
Robert McGhee, and caregivers of Vicdania Health Services: Manfred Hooke and Ella Light. He also leaves a host of family and friends.
