Daniel James Smith

Daniel James Smith was born Sunday, August 25, 1935, in Dunn, North Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Wilmington Hospital.

Daniel received his early education from the Harnett County Schools in North Carolina.

After school, he moved north to Wilmington Delaware. Daniel worked for Local 199 for 27 years as a Laborer.

Daniel was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church for many years, where he served as a Deacon and on the Usher board.

Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family here in Delaware but was always excited to go back home to North Carolina for visits.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Moses and Louise Smith, his wife Betty Lou Smith, his daughter Lucille Smith, his sister Hattie Smith and brother Willis Smith.

Daniel is survived by his sons James Smith (Donielle), Harvey Harris (Shelley), Sister Betty Smith of Dunn, NC; five grandchildren Kevis Smith, Bernard Smith, Demytri Smith, Sierrah Harris, and Re'Gine Smith and a host of relatives and friends
