Dalila Tamara Carter-Taylor

September 22, 1973 — May 4, 2014

Dalila was born on September 22, 1973 to Jeffrey Blake and Phyllis Carter at the General Hospital in Wilmington. Her parents preceded her in death. Dalila has 5 brothers: Victor Carter, Ifeon Carter, Frederick Bivens Jr., Ryan Blake, and Jeffrey Blake Jr. She also has 3 sisters: Sonja Carter, Tyree Bivens, and Jeanetta Bivens. Dalila was a tomboy that hated dresses, ribbons and bows but loved the outside and the earth. She was always finding dead animals (birds, worms, and all types of bugs) and would bring them home to frighten her mother. When Dalila was in the first grade, her mother introduced the family to The Truth, the entire family began studing with Jehovah's Witnesses. Dalila eventually made The Truth her own and was baptized. Later, she met and fell in love with Danny Taylor. They were married on August 13, 2006. Although they had no children of their own, they had nieces and nephews that were treated as their own: Alexxus Carter, Nia Willis, Noni Taylor, Odell Taylor, Justice Burbuck, and Joshua Burbuck. She also gained a mother-in-law, Andrea Ancrum and sister-in-laws: Donyell Gordon and Diane Burbuck. Dalila worked at PNC Bank. She loved eating out at various restaurants and trying a variety of foods. She also liked walking around the malls and flea markets. Although, Dalila later became sick, she always kept a smile on her face. On May 4, 2014, Dalila passed away in the comfort of her own home. She will be missed by her family and friends. However, she believed in a resurrection here on the earth. Therefore, we say our goodbyes now and hope to see her in Paradise.
