Christopher Scrivens, Jr.

May 27, 1956 — October 16, 2020

Christopher Scrivens Jr., affectionately known by his family and friends as Plooky, was born May 27, 1956 in Wilmington, Delaware to Christopher Scrivens Sr. and Margaret G. Scrivens. He went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2020.

Christopher received his primary education at North East Elementary School. He went on to attend Bancroft Jr. High School where he became lead trumpet player in the band.

As a graduate of Job Corps career training program, where he studied concrete masonry, he worked at Graydon Hurst Construction Company for many years until becoming disabled due to renal failure.

Christopher's hobbies included reading and listening to jazz music. He also enjoyed long walks and a hearty meal. He loved the Lord and regularly attended the 7:00 AM Sunday Worship Services at Bethel A.M.E. Church. He also attended Bible Study at the Sunday Breakfast Mission.

Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Scrivens Sr. and foster brother, Donald "Buzz" Banice.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Margaret G. Scrivens, two brothers Eddy C. Scrivens (Laurie), Glenn E. Scrivens (Angela), two sisters Shayne T. Williams (Dennis), Sabrina J. Scrivens, one uncle Dr. T. James Green (Rosalyn) two Aunts Alzetta Tann (Robert), Cheryl L. Basley, a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
