Cheryl Lynn Diggs

October 16, 1961 — October 31, 2022

Cheryl Lynn Diggs, also known as Jackie Brown to some, the daughter of Gloria J. Diggs and Walter Owens; stepfather Jerry L. Grier, was born October 16, 1961 in Wilmington, Delaware. She peacefully departed this life on October 31, 2022.

Cheryl or Jackie, depending on who called her, was educated in the Wilmington Public School System. She graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1979. She also attended college online at the University of Arizona for Applied Science. She was employed as a travel live-in nurse for Angel Care Companion located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Cheryl loved the Lord and accepted Him as her personal savior. She attended church every Sunday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she lived. She loved to spread the gospel to anyone who would listen to her talk and read her Facebook posts every morning.

Cheryl was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many people who loved everyone and her family deeply. She'd say, "I don't play when it comes to my child, my money or my family." She loved to tell jokes and stories and smile with just about anyone that crossed her path. Her personality was so warm and magnetic. She would help anyone that was in need and give you a quote on life without asking for it, after laying you out and then ending it with a Bible scripture. She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking with her daughter, knitting and listening to music. If her song came on, she would break out in dance anywhere and have a good time.

She was preceded in death by her mother Gloria Jean Diggs, stepfather Jerry L. Grier, son Michael Terron Diggs, grandmother Anna M. Madric, grandson Christian M. Diggs, aunt Martha M. (Peaches) Diggs, her beloved cousin Harolyn (Bingo) Diggs as well as two sisters Mildred and Avis Owens.

She leaves to cherish many joyous and funny memories her one daughter Krystol Levette Diggs, three grandchildren Marquise Terron Allen Diggs-Smith, Savion Diggs and Aviri Diggs, great-granddaughter Ma'Lia Smith, her four loving brothers, who she loved dearly, Cecil Diggs, Brian Diggs, Keith Diggs and Eric Owens, her three sisters Shelia Owens, Joanne Owens and Lynnie Garvin and a host of nieces, nephews, lots of cousins, church family and friends. Special thanks go to Troy Hopkins of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
