Betty Ann Johnson was born in the City of Chester, PA to Robert Levi Powell and Marie Elizabeth (West) Powell. She received her education in the Chester Upland School District. In her early career Betty worked as a Secretary at Widner University in Chester PA. Betty ended her career as a activities coordinator at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Media PA. After working in the marketplace for many years, she went on to become a homemaker to raise her two younger children. Betty made a decision to follow Jesus shortly before she attended a Christian Rehab Facility, New Life for Girls in 1985. During her time at New Life for Girls she began her Christian journey by receiving the delivering power of Jesus Christ through prayer, the word of God and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Betty attended and served at Lighthouse Church in Upland PA for many years under Bishop Leon Schnupp. Betty went on to attend Life In Christ Cathedral of Faith where she served under Bishop Dickie Robbins. Betty served in many ministries which included Intercessory Prayer, Helps Ministry as well as signing on the choir. Betty had a passion for Praise and Prayer. Betty served not only in the house of God but also in her community. She served at Covent Preschool in Chester, PA. Betty's home was also a "House of Refuge" providing shelter, food and prayer to many that were displaced, hungry and those in need of spiritual direction. Betty is survived by her Father, Robert Powell Sr.. Siblings, Talib Powell, Novella Freeman, Carlton Powell and Jennifer Davis. Children, Tamica Bennett (Erskine), Tareasa Bradley (Marcus), Shanoah Johnson and Christian Johnson. Grandchildren, Anthony Smith Jr., Nathaniel Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Aria Joy Bradley, Trinity Ann Yarborough and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death, Husband, Calvin Johnson Sr., Mother, Marie (West) Powell, Brothers, Robert Powell, Jr., Ronald Powell, Sylvester Powell and Sister, Linda Powell. Grandchild, Gary Lamar Johnson.
