Bernard Alfred Jenkins son of William and Hattie Jenkins was born on August 12, 1954 in Wilmington, DE. He departed this life on May 24, 2019 in Seasons Hospice in Newark, DE. Bernard received his early education in the Wilmington Public School System graduating from P.S. DuPont High School. He graduated from Delaware State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Distributed Education in 1977. After graduating he taught school in the Wilmington Public School districts. Bernard was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. In 1984 he was united in holy matrimony to Renee and from this union Bernard Junior was born. Bernard was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed all of them. He loved music, playing cards as well as helping people. Bernard had a wonderful sense of humor; you could count on him always being the life of the party. Bernard exuded many talents notably an exceptional cook. He was indeed a mentor to many. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents William and Hattie Jenkins; siblings, Thomas "Pete" Jenkins, Henrietta K. "Betty" Bonner, Patricia "Patsy" Jenkins, Larry Jenkins and Anthony "Tony" Jenkins. Bernard leaves to cherish his memory wife, Renee; son, Bernard Junior; siblings Frances Crenshaw, Vivian Banks(Joe), Charles Jenkins and Robin Jenkins-Pengel(Dennis); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
