Mr. Anthony Hollingsworth, 61, of Wilmington, Delaware, went home to be with his Heavenly
Father on the morning of Saturday, February 18, 2023, at his home surrounded by his big
brother James W. Hollingsworth, Jr.
Anthony was born on July 2, 1961, to the late James W. Sr. and Dorothy L. Hollingsworth. He
was the couples’ last child (the baby boy) out of 10. Anthony received his education in the
Brandywine Public School System.
Anthony was affectionately known as “Cuddy” and “Unc”,names given to him by his nieces,
nephews, and cousins. He had a huge heart and an affectionate LAUGH, that would always
make you just burst out in laughter with him. Cuddy enjoyed listening to music, eating seafood
as well as drinking coffee and a cold Pepsi soda; just dont bring him a bottle of water. He loved
his independence and taking walks in the North Wilmington area.
Cuddy’s greatest joy was being surrounded by family, friends and collecting his coins. He would
always hit you up for a couple of dollars ($2.00 to be exact) to get his coffee or pepsi. He would
always declare that “We are the richest family” and LAUGH!!! You can always count on him to
have a stack of dollar bills on him.
Cuddy was a music junkie and he loved listening to classic R&B music. He sure knew how to
wear a song out, LOL!!! Especially, Have You Seen Her by The Chi-Lites!!!
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Sr. and Dorothy L. Hollingsworth; his
aunt Charlotte Ringgold-Hill; his sisters, Barbara Ann Matthews, Celestine Hollingsworth and
Roxanne M. Hollingsworth; his nephews, Ronnie A. “Munchie” Hollingsworth, Leo “Man”
Hollingsworth and Andrew Pennewell; his nieces, Dorothy Baston and Shaunice Hollingsworth.
Anthony Hollingsworth leaves to cherish his loving memory and continue his legacy, his 4
children Tyrone Barlow, Jerome Barlow, Angalee Barlow, and Tameka Fisher; 14 grandchildren;
5 sisters, Nancy Warren (Michael), Janet Wright (Donald), Pamela Hollingsworth, Brenda
Hollingsworth, Phyllis Rawlings (Wilbert); 2 brothers, James W. Hollingsworth, Jr. (Faith) and
Larry Harrison; 1 aunt, Dorothy Wilson-Hollingsworth; 1 uncle, Richard Jenkins (Karen Ann); his
extended Harrison Family (Delores, James, Tommy, Miles, Kelly, Diane and Denice); and a host
of devoted and dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special “Thank You” to Joe and Shaun, Kevin and Alicia, Lawana Dunn and Yvette
DesSausure for the continuous love and care you’ve provided. Be blessed!
Lovingly Submitted,
