Fruitful Life Story of Annie Barnes

Annie was born on June 19 ,1953 in Wilmington, DE to Carrie Barnes and Thomas Barnes Sr. She was

raised in South Wilmington along with her siblings. She was returned back to the lord on December 20 ,

2023.

Annie, affectionately known as Doris or Ann received her education in the Wilmington public school

system. She graduated from Howard High School of Technology circa 1971. After graduating she gained

promising employment with DuPont de Nemours Inc. She was always sharp-witted and devoted to her

career. She happily retired from DuPont after 25 years of service.

One of Annie’s favorite things to do was help others. She was a giver with a generous heart. If she could

assist you, she would. Her all-time favorite “hobby” was spoiling her first born grandson, Makiya. Best

friends was an understatement when it came to these two.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her one and only son Makiya Barnes Sr. (Danielle); her grandchildren

Makiya, Gennifer (Dominique), Kali and Caleb; Her siblings Thomas (Beverly) and Sandra; Her loving

nieces, nephews and host of friends.
