Our beloved Andre Saunders was born on April 7, 1973 in Salem, New Jersey to Katherine Saunders and Donald Crane, Jr. He transitioned on September 7, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Andre was known as and affectionately called Dre.
Dre met the love of his life, Dr. Tynisa Jones, in 2016 where they lived a life of love and adventure. They loved and cared for each other deeply and affectionately up to his passing.
Dre received his high school diploma from Salem High School in 1992. He attended Rutgers University and Jersey City College. Dre graduated from Pennco Tech in 2015 with his certification as an electrician. He worked at Anchor Glass for many years and then worked at Vesolit where he was currently employed as a dryer technician. He was loved and respected by all of his coworkers. Dre was very dedicated to his jobs and he received high praise from his employers.
Dre lived and loved the game of football and was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Go Eagles! He was a standout player for Salem High School and Rutgers University. He was very active in his community and well respected by the younger generation. Dre coached Salem midget football team, little league baseball and basketball for more than 10 years. He was truly an EXTRAORDINARY MAN!
Dre was very gifted and had many talents. He loved to grill and cook, as his specialties were sweet potatoes and baked ziti, and he made a mean ham.
Dre always knew what to say to make people laugh. He was a gentle giant and a sharp dresser.
Dre was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Mary P. Saunders and his paternal
grandparents Ola and Donald Crane, Sr., 1 aunt: Tinnita (Faye) Crane, 4 uncles: Isaac (Ike) Saunders, Edward Nugent, Ronald, Williams, and Keith Crane.
