Alton Linwood Jones

Alton Linwood Jones departed this life very suddenly at Home on Tuesday, October 4, 2005. Alton was born in Wilmington, Delaware on September 14, 1947. He received his early education in the Public Schools of Wilmington, Delaware. After Employment at several jobs, he became employed with the International Longshoremen Local 1883 as a checker. He continued employment until his retirement. He enjoyed television and reading, telling a funny tale spun by him. He loved laughter and his friends, he loved to reach and a help anyone that he felt needed it. Alton's mother, Opra Jones-Moyer, father, Alonzo Jones and brother, Emedio "Larry' Jones predecased him in death. He is survived by his step-father, Sterling Moyer. Alton is also survived by his wife, Ernestine M. Johnson-Jones; one daughter, Robin Moore. He also leaves to cherish his memory; two brothers, Alonzo Jones and Anthony Slaughter; four sisters, Mary Brown, Ruth Smith, Opra Elinora Carter and Vanessa Evans; 5 sisters-in-law; 9 brothers-in-law;4 step children, Tyrina Y. Govens, Tynnea Brown-Louis, Tyrone V. Govens, Jr and Mortina A.
