Alice Glory Hackett

Alice G ( Mom Mom) Hackett, age 89, of Wilmington, Delaware departed this life and went to rest in the bosom of Jesus on June 22, 2022 at the Parkview Nursing Home.
She was born on September 1 , 1932 to the late Henry and Mary Walker in Belfield Virginia, Greenville county. She was a kind and loving person and every one who met
her could make a warm connection and admired her positivity and love. She joined Zion Baptist Church in Purdy Virginia at an early age.
Alice was a loving mother who took Great care of her family. In her career she worked for the Wilmington Dry Goods for many years and numerous housekeeping jobs..
Her passion was going to the Casino's as much as she could and hoping to win big so she could share it with the entire Family. She loved taking long trips, shopping and visiting family until her illness, Alice was married to William Yates of Adsit Virginia who preceded her in death in 1991 and from that union two beautiful flowers blossom, one daughter
Mary Ann Yates Harris and one son William E. Yates. .
Alice and her late husband Maurice Hackett was married for 52 years prior to his death July 2 , 2009 . She received her education at a school house in Jarrett, Virginia.
Alice had a Big compassion for fashion and spent a lot of time shopping on a regular basis. She was classy and Fabulous with her Fashion and had a tendency to always step out looking fabulous.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Eugene Hackett , daughter Mary Ann Yates Harris,one grandson Andre L Harris, all of Wilmington, Delaware;
sisters, Geneva Williams(George ) Hampton, VA, Bernice Thomas (Willie) Freeman, VA , Gracie Yates(Hurley) Dolphin, VA.; Clifton Yates(Celestine) Baltimore, MD. Thomas Yates (Elizabeth) New York, Paul and Rita Yates, Dolphin,VA; brother in laws , Roosevelt, Marion,William and Henry of Adsit Va; sister in laws Emma Ruth( Charlie) East Orange, New Jersey.
Alice leaves to cherish one son/daughter in law, William Yates(Priscilla Yates) of Wilmington, Delaware; granddaughters, Tonya and Andrea Harris of Wilmington, Delaware;
one sister Dorlena Stith of Emporia, Virginia; fifteen Grand kids, five great grand kids, Catherine and Daisy Yates sister in laws from Baltimore MD; a host of other relatives and friends. Previous Events
