Alethia U.R. Leverett

Alethia U.R. Leverett age 71, of Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Alethia was born on September 1, 1941 in North Hampton, VA; to the late Gertrude Williams Urqhart and Whalon Urquhart. She later moved to Wilmington, De where she was educated and worked as an Psychiatric Assistant for the State of Delaware for 20 years. She enjoyed laughing, traveling with her granddaughter, shopping with friends but most of all loved being in the comfort of hert own home enjoying family and entertaining friends. She is preceded in death by her late husband, C.T. "Haywood" Leverett, her sister Lendoris Urquhart and 2 brothers, Sylvester Urquhart and Donald Chambers. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Brenda Reed- Skinner ( Amir Ibrahim), her son, Robert Gainey both of Wilm., DE; her grandchildren Tiffany Skinner-Alwan (Yuwsha), Jimille and Percy Skinner all of Wilm., DE; 2 great grandchildren, Laith and Elin Alwan; 2 sisters, Annette Urquhart Guy, of Wilm;DE; and Ada Mae Brooks, of VA; 5 brothers James, Richard, Rudolph, John Lee and Andre Urquhart, all of Wilm., DE; her special Aunt, Ruby Haskins of VA;devoted friends, Augusta Davis, Erma Cunningham, Janice Webb, Marjorie St. John, Marion Crank and Ruth Elam. She is also survived by a host of other family members and friends. Alethia touched the lives of so many people with her words of encouragement, smile and generosity.
