Nelson Ried Drakeford

Nelson Ried Drakeford II was born on April 7, 1989 in Absecon, NJ to his proud parents, Nelson and Zenobia Drakeford. He departed this life on August 2, 2008. Nelson graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in Wilmington, DE in 2008. Nelson had planned to continue his education at the American Beauty Academy in Wilmington to become a Licensed Barber and later to own his own business. From the ages of 6-15 years old, he played football for Claymont Falcons as a starting player, and for a short time he continued his love for football at Mt. Pleasant High. He loved his family and friends dearly. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 3 sisters, Tasha Jenkins, Atlantic City, NJ, Tiffany Drakeford, Wilmington, DE and Sharna Drakeford of Dover; nieces, D'ajaney Jenkins Drakeford, High Point, NC, and Amera Savage, Wilmington; and nephew, Tashawn Drakeford, High Point, NC. He was also loved by 5 aunts, Patricia Bridges, Lenora Bridges, Stephanie Dunmore, Harriet Thornton and Jean Denean Veale. He is also survived by his grandparents who loved him dearly, John and Claretha Drakeford, High Point, NC, Roberta B. Gill, Kings Mountain, N; and great grandmother, Gramma Rose Drakeford, High Point, NC. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Gill.
