Karen Eileen Flippin Lee

Karen Eileen Flippin Lee departed this life on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Christiana Hospital after a short illness with family by her side. Karen was born on January 6, 1947 in Washington, DE; daughter of the late Arthur Flippin and Anna Harris Flippin. She graduated from Woodbury High School in Woodbury, NJ. She attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA and received her B.S. Degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware, After working as an Accountant for the DuPont Company for over 25 years, Karen retired in 1997. Karen was a great listener which facilitated a remarkable memory, particularly with names. Karen enjoyed vacationing with her family and was an avid sports fan, especially for Philadelphia teams. Karen was known for her laid back demeanor and her ability to take all things in stride. COOL, CALM AND COLLECTED is the way she will be remembered by her family and friends. A devoted wife and mother, Karen leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband for more than 26 years, James (Jay) B. Lee; sons, James B. Lee II and Brandon Harris Lee all of Wilmington, DE; stepson, Gary Osborne of Springfield, VA; brothers, Arthur M. Flippin, MD (Sandra) of San Diego, CA and Keith E. Flippin of San Leandro, CA; and many other relatives and friends. Viewing from 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon on Friday, September 12, 2008 at Friendship Baptist Church, 530 E. 4th St., Wilmington, DE and Homegoing services begin at 12:00 noon.
