Joseph C. Thomas Jr.

October 25, 1945 — February 16, 2022

FIRST THINGS FIRST, JOE LOVED HIS "EAGLES"

Joe was born on October 25, 1945, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Ava Tinnin and Joseph Thomas Sr. On February 16, 2022, Joe departed his life at age 76. Joe received his early education in the public school systems of Hockessin and Wilmington, DE, and graduated from Howard High School. He also obtained an Associates in Human Services from Delaware Technical & Community College, retiring from the State of Delaware after 31 years of service.

Joe loved his children and grandchildren. He was a Devoted father! He was a man who always ended his conversations with "I love you" and always greeted you with "HEY" and a hug. Joe valued his solo time. He enjoyed fishing, washing his car, tending to his yard, and doing crafts in his basement. On the weekends, you would find Joe at Cowtown or Farmer's Market.

Joe believed that one of his greatest accomplishments was his two Military Tours. He cherished this Honor. In this light, Joe was SUPER proud of his grandson; Joe L. Thomas who also serves in the United States Army.

Joe is preceded in death by his two beautiful sisters MaryAnn Griffin and June Anderson. Joe WILL be missed increasingly with each passing day.

Joe leaves to cherish his legacy four children; Joseph Thomas, Margaret Coleman, Lanora Boyd, and Jowonna Thomas; a loving sister Laura Bantum; an adored niece Renee Hinton (Frank Hinton); A special lady friend Candice Colon; fifteen grandchildren including three devoted (Marquise, Aliyah, and Ahlaylah). Four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Previous Events
